Nashua, NSW
Starting from scratch, this thriving young food-forest/ orchard in Nashua, NSW is a beautiful example of how working with nature works best. Starting with a large feature dam capturing run off sitting above the main growth area. Following the natural patterns of this hill allows us to catch and store the energies in each growth line, as nutrients are sustained and move slowly through the orchard. Although the dam is present, this hill has never had or needed and irrigation system set up. The diversity of plants in the design offer us scattered shade during the summer months and plenty of space for sun during the winter months. We have flowering natives throughout to attract annual pollinators and compliment the hill. With under story, mid and primary growth varieties this young and diverse orchard already has a large quantity yield.
